As a trauma recovery survivor, (ask me about it if you like, I’m an open book and it is a pretty unique story), I was so lost and in despair for so long, it is my greatest wish to make my struggles mean something. To help other lovely humans find away out of the things that are causing pain. And to provide the kind of support that actually helps, because its coming from someone who’s been to hell and back and found a way to make it work. To actually change things around in a way where life has meaning and I like myself even with all the flaws and imperfections.

Because progress is not about perfection, its about finding a way to enjoy our every day as we all move forward, with the addition of self-care and some incredibly useful tools and habits to find joy again.

What these sessions look at is how you can adopt healthier internal dialogue to find inner strength, clarify our purpose and support the transition when making positive changes or shifts. Replacing excuses with commitments. Reduces stress, anxiety by helping you find the best side of yourself again. There is no “getting over it” when it comes to sadness, or lack of purpose (that anxiety ridden feeling of being “stuck” or “lost” in our own self-deprecating narrative. In fact, the very idea of “getting over it” to me, comes across as judgmental, dismissive and unhelpful and that is the opposite of we are going to do here. What this coaching does it that we can move past “it” together, whatever your specific “stuck points” or “its” are, at a pace that feels supportive and safe.

Leveling Up: Customized Fitness & Mobility Assessment

 

The customized fitness and mobility assessment covers all the bases for beginner to athlete who need to find support to push past existing plateaus. Our assessment meeting will cover where you specifically are at in all ranges of core physical competencies and ranges of motion. It will also include a detailed review of where you are at and what your physical goals are in order to customize programming, recommended training & movements to incorporate, add or supplement in your training schedule as it aligns with your specific goals.

Education on safety of movements is also available (when necessary) to help you level up faster in a way that supports increases in number of workouts or levels of difficulty. Customization will also be aligned with your goals to ensure options for beginners to athletes most suitable to your needs. As recommendations for movement options vary depending on the starting point of either increasing weights, adding endurance training or begging to incorporate movement after sedentary periods, details of options and suggestions will be narrowed down in the assessment meeting.

Crushing Workouts: Personal Training

 

As noted somewhere else on this site, I marched to the beat of my own drum. As you may have gathered from the almost absurd number of miscellaneous credentials, when I need to do something, I like to teach myself how. In this case it literally meant becoming a trainer of so many things fitness related because when I started, I well, couldn’t even do one single squat.

Now, well progress is a beautiful thing. It’s what consistent effort over time can bring us all. I mention it below on the nutrition side, but I lost a serious amount of weight, in order to get healthy as it suited my body type and stature. Along the way, I learned how to crush a workout for any body range and ability level. What does movement look like for me now?

CrossFit Level 1 certified, Burgener Weightlifting certified, Oxygen Yoga Teacher in Training and amateur boxer in training. Because why not do all the things we love. Well, all things in moderation in a healthy way that adds joy to our lives.

Precision Nutrition certified, the customized nutrition offered is a step-by-step approach to making minor shifts that have an enormously beneficial impact on your health, energy levels and wellbeing. The nutrition service was completely accidental, I originally did this because well, my food as fuel approach consisted of very many McNuggets and zero veggies. I trained myself because I thought I was a lost cause. That was around 4 years and 90 pounds ago. It began first with a realization that every shape is beautiful, its not about pounds, although that is an easy measurement to showcase change. Rather, its about finding ways to use food to have more energy, meet personal action-based goals and feel comfortable in my on skin. To be honest, the program I used, along with a lifetime of finding ways to meet my personal goals is amazing, it works wonders and its too good not to offer.

Sounds hefty right? Breaking it down for a second, the usual hourly rate is $95 per hour, twice a week for four weeks makes its $760. From where I’m sitting that level of commitment gets a break, in this case a big break. All nutrition support and programming is included here for just over $200 (instead of the stand alone $395 each). Why? Because you’re worth it, comprehensive self care is best enhanced with a complete overhaul and well psychological pricing models say that rounding down even slightly, is what probably made the above price tag seem just at the top limit, but not too high as to prevent you from reading this blurb.
